No.41  SRT Techniques from around the world (9)

In 2018 The Wooden Hand produced a hand drawn booklet about SRT techniques which features climbers from Japan, Germany, New Zealand, UK and America. Each month this year I will introduce a technique at ODSK.

'Peaceful World' by Paul Poynter (Japan)

There used to be some tension between those who considered DdRT the best system and those who thought it to be SRT. This is nonsense of course, merits and pitfalls can be found in both. Rope work should have no boundaries and the Peaceful World technique integrates and gives a little bit of both worlds.

Paul says:

“Opposing shapes facilitate retrieve.”

“It sets easily and quickly to the midline and is retrievable too.”

“One half is stationary, the other dynamic.”

“Peaceful World gives the climber a safe way to work position between two anchors.”
