No50. ALT (Alternate Lanyard Technique)
(The climber may begin ALT at floor level or any mid point in the tree. For example, from a ladder, or from an access line)
Equipment
2 x climbing ropes
1 x lanyard
PPE (helmet, glasses, gloves)
Technique
Throw a bundle of rope over a branch and tie the rope into either an MRS or SRS system.
Climb to the branch.
Use the short lanyard, from a comfortable and secure position throw the second rope over the next branch.
Tie the rope into either an MRS or SRS system.
Climb to the branch.
One system is set and then the other is removed.
Climber must always have at least one secure connection point.
